Hi there-I will primarily be skiing on the East Coast-NH and VT and prefer groomed runs. Haven't skied in a few years but imagine will ski 10-15 days a year. Level 6 skier, female, 5'8/135lb-your suggestions for ski's/boots are welcomed!! Thank you!
For skis, you won't need a top of the line model but OTH, going cheap is generally a bad move too. Three good one or two steps from the top suggestions would be Atomic Affinity Storm, Salomon Bamboo, or K2 Superglide.
For boots, you really don't want to go cheap on those either. The ~~ $299 boots are generally very high volume with poor liners. Look for something in the 80-95 (ish) flex range and in a shape that is well adapted to your foot and lower leg anatomy. That rather vague direction is about all I can give because getting the correct boot is vastly more important than anything else in the equipment arena and evaluating your foot is the key to success. You should find a competent bootfitter to guide you through the process. You probably won't need a "best in the world" type fitter but someone with experience and good knowledge and skills is important. FWIW....you generally won't find those folks at chain stores like REI (among others).
