New Zealand winter employment links - applications are opening now

Thread Starter

There have been a couple of threads over the last year or two inquiring about working the Southern Hemisphere Season, so I thought that this might be helpful. NZ ski areas are beginning to recruit now for our coming winter, so you don't have a whole lot of time. Applications are starting to open now and close as early as later this month. Snowsports instructors and technicians are on the immediate skills shortage list, meaning that your employer might help with visa requirements. There are also other categories so if you want to know more this is the place to look:

Typically you'll need to complete an online application form and submit a cover letter, CV and copies of relevant qualifications as a minimum. Some positions are on the NZ skills The links also have details about visa requirements, required qualifications etc.

There are two good "omnibus" NZ ski sites:

http://www.chillout.co.nz/ for info on smaller commercial areas and clubs

http://www.snow.co.nz for information on larger areas

I have pasted some links below with information about commercial fields:

North Island

For club fields best to have a look at the links in chillout and keep an eye on their websites.

What an adventure!  It'd be a ton of fun if...I was a bit younger, didn't have teenagers, and didn't have other obligations.  Maybe in a couple years when the kids are gone.
