WB - 1-4 Feb

OK, with only 8100+ acres, there has to be SOME way to find something - right?

Well yes, notwithstanding nonsense about who can make snow (yes-it's fake), WB knows how to do it -

We went over to Harmony and Symphony chairs, and they were OK, but northleastish, in being scratchy and noisy, but down below, south of the roundhouse, conditions were generally excellent.

I got edges in deeper in a run below the Roundhouse than I did in 4 days in SLC earlier this week.

Blacktusk came out a bit today to say hello:

Then again, this isn't some dinky 485 acre berm, this is the real deal, and even with a lack of snow (but no torrential rain), this is world class, not a reason for excuses.

So today, EVERYTHING is open:

Want to ski groomer? Off-piste? A glacier? No problem:

Scenery - well, not so bad (that's like 4 x 485 acres right there, and that's only Symphony lift!)

this alls reassures me a bit.

We're off to whistler at the end of the month and even with no new snows it look pretty good (not ideal but still good enought for a good time!)

Its supposed to snow starting next week... i'll keep my fingers crossed.

i hope your last two days went as well as the first two.

Well, the hill needs a lot of snow, but that's OK as it's expected starting this weekend, when I'll be back, so I'll give a report at that time. Anyway, it's been VERY crisp and clear the last couple of days, with Black Tusk standing proud off the Harmony lift:

Looking forward to the snow, and will also be interested in what conditions you encounter, too.  I've got a week planned to go west in mid-March and am waiting for the snow next week to decide between WB and somewhere in the interior (Big White or Revelstoke).

they've had 108 cm of snow in the last 7 days and there's a few more days of significant snowfall forecast for early this week

i know i'm stoked for our arrival next week!

They do forecast some more suynny weather for our stay.. so wether it's sunny and there is enougth new snow that it should be very nice still (alltough not powdery goodness) or the forecast change and we get even more snow during our stay... either way it will be awesome!

There will be significant snowfall tomorrow into Wednesday then a bit more later in the week. Looks like clearing for Saturday onward so you may get sun next week (but who knows, it can change quickly). The good news is coverage is vastly improved from before the storm, and it has been dumping snow right down to valley level. Skiing this weekend was excellent but crowded.

i went for a day trip on Saturday Feb 22 and it snowed non stop the entire day. The snow was coming down light so visibility wasn't too bad. And the accumulated snowfall from the past few days made for a lot of nice powdery runs with only a few icy spots. I didn't notice any groomers, maybe because they were all covered. I saw a few green runs were starting to form nice fluffy bumps which my daughter loved skiing over.
