quick Vail Lesson question. - Difference between Golden Peak & Lionshead

going to be snowboarding in vail next weekend (flying in Friday, snowboarding sat, sun, Monday, Tuesday).

I'm an OK blue rider once I get my bearings. For reference. I've done most of the blues at beaver creek, mainly solo. And have rode from the peak to base, (with a break at the gondola) at the end of the day.  Which include the short, black, right below the gondola.

I've also done most of the blues at steamboat.

The question I have for lessons is the following:

~~Want to book a lesson but they have a choice of locations - Golden Peak & Lionshead. I never rode at vail so I have no idea as to what the difference is (I have walked the village).

Where are you staying? Those are opposite ends of the resort

Somewhere near by. I'm crashing at my cousins buddies house, and I'm still waiting on the address. So I'll be driving in.

Bus goes everywhere in Vail. Not sure there is a deck @ Golden Peak - there is one in Lionshead. Im sure the level of instruction is a push.

so basically no difference? The first day of lessons will be Saturday.

2 questions

1) is one location easier then the other

2) is one busier then the other?

Lionshead is easier and busier, but it would be better for your level.

So you can walk from further away than your friend's house?

Work out the bus route.

I think there is no any differences with the two locations. It's just for your convenience to meet the coach.

The coach will lead you up to the mountain, take an easy run, check your level, and then choose runs.

Last year, I get a lesson at Heavenly, they give us two options, meet coach at the top of Gondola, or, at CA side entrance just beside the school.

just an after action report. (I also posted the question on a snowboard forum). The vail guy there claimed that lionshead was less busy, and that golden peak catered more towards higher-end crowds.

I ended up booking at lionshead, and drove in from avon.

Was only able to take 2 days out of the 3day package, but it was well worth it. 1st day ended up splitting the lesson with just one person. 2nd day, it turned into a private lesson.
