Finally after what seemed like an eternity ULLR came through and laid down a nice blanket of Fresh at Lookout Pass on the North Idaho-Montana border. With 18" of fresh in just over 24 hours we were treated to an epic Friday at Lookout. Our crew for the day was Jeff Yates, Justin Miller , Tommy Frey and Alison Murphy who was experiencing her first day ever at Lookout Pass. I'd say this was the perfect day for Alisons maiden voyage!
Who wouldn't be smiling if this was your first experience at Lookout Pass!
We were first load on the chair and we B-lined directly for the Glades a moderately steep pitch of Gladed trees. The pow laid in nicely here and we hot lapped this for a 5-6 runs. Plenty of untouched to be had here..
Alison and Tommy loving life in The Glades
Jeff Yates even found some fun little poppers to boost a little air.
We did a little adventuring and hit Last Chance where the trees were a little tighter which kept some of the intermediates out giving us plenty of pockets laden with stashes. We even had a burst of Bluebird for a few minutes. What a game changer that makes for your attitude. Not a bad place to end it before lunch.
After a quick bit back on the chair and we saw the viz was not the best over on Chair 3 which is know for some good steeps. So we ventured back over to a few secret areas that we knew would be holding after the morning rush. Yeah, we hit it again!. We spent the last few hours playing in the trees and doing a little walking out. It was well worth as we were getting the total 18" effect in these pockets.
Pretty sweet Friday at Lookout. Family friendly and not crowded, perfect for those North Idaho powder days!
