Blizzard Viva 8.1 vs Viva 8.0

Hello,

I have the Blizzard Viva 8.1, unrockered and am thinking about getting a tip rockered one. Between the rockered tip Blizzard 8.1 and the viva 8.0, which one is more demanding and which one has a better edge grip for eastern ice? I have read that the 8.0 has a small sweet spot. Is it smaller than the 8.1?

If you read my review of the new 810 (there is a women's version coming too), I touch upon the differences between the 8.1 and 8.0 and the evolution, all of points between these two translate to your question. I will let @Trekchick ad along her views she has skied both.

Hi Anne, I'm not sure that either one is more demanding, but the 8.0 is flip core rocker so it has some (tiny bit) of tail rocker, so its more versatile.  The 8.0 also gives you a little more feedback from the snow, where the Viva 8.1 with the tip rocker is a little more damp.  I've skied both and could be happy with either one.  I'd say the 8.0 may inspire you to go off the trail a bit more.
