Winter Park trip:Three Nights at base+lift ticket during Bob's Mogul Camp

Due to a season ending injury I won't be able to use a three night hotel stay + lift ticket at Winter Park on Feb 11/12/13 (that I booked the night before the injury).  I'm told that I can change the name on things, but can't get a refund on any part of it (and let that be a lesson to anyone who'd use WP central booking).

These dates overlap the mogul camp being held on the 12/13/14th - so if you were considering going, here's your chance!

Hate to see the pass/hotel go to waste, please let me know if you'd be able to use them, or know someone who could.

Absolute bummer. Hope you heal quickly.

Saw the link to this thread... Sorry to hear about your season-ender!

Hopefully someone steps up and offers you some $ to at least partly recoup your losses. If you think its going to go to waste anyway and you were thinking of giving it away and you knew you could xfer both the hotel and tickets... I'd shamelessly take it off your hands! wink.gif

I can use the hotel but the tips have been below average lately so I can't offer anything for the hotel.  I'd certainly appreciate the use of a hotel room over camping overnight in the bed of my pickup which I normally have to do.

I could most likely help you recoup your lift ticket losses.  They don't really mind if one sells excess tickets near the lift ticket windows.  I can't sell any employee related comp's but don't see why I can't help sell a guests as long as I don't do it in uniform.

Too bad about this, Bob's really a fun guy and great boss.  If you want to learn moguls.....he's the man.

Yeah - I've been looking forward to the camp since I did a bump Jam at WP last March.

@twochordcool turned down my offer, so if no one can use the hotel and ticket together I'll split them.

Really love to get someone to the camp who couldn't otherwise afford it.

Thanks Mike.  Really bummed about it, nothing permanently damaged so far, and lets hope it stays that way.

Think you can figure out a way to explain to my boss how mogul skiing is a skill critical to my job? ;)

I've looked into this camp before, and if the dates were in March I'd seriously be interested, but sadly there's no way I can swing three days off work barely a month after I ended up being out five days total.  Good luck finding someone though.

Hey, if anybody needs mogul help its me, I'm terrified of them. I was happily making my way down a slope of "uneven terrain" one day and doing pretty well until half way down I realised they were moguls and from there it was all bad news.

Would this be suitable for  a mogulphobe with dodgy knees? I'm intermediate elsewhere and will be around Utah with an Epic pass at that time??

The camp is advertised as intermediate skiers+ (novice bumpers welcome), and I can vouch for the quality of instruction. Go in knowing nothing and apply yourself - and you'll come out far better, and more comfortable.  As for your knees - they can show you low impact bump techniques, but you're still skiing hard for 18 hours of coaching over 3 days.

Give the camp a call and talk to them about being a match.

Magi,

Really sorry to read about your injury. I'd love to take the package off your hands, but the dates just don't work for me either. Anyway, I can also vouch for the instruction, maybe you and I were in the same Jam group last year - I was with Greg Schmidt. I liked it so much, I'm doing it again in March. Maybe I can make the stars align for the full three day camp some day, but just not this year. Let's hope you're back in fighting trim for next season!

Thank you all for the kind wishes and offers.

The room and lift ticket was given to a good family.
