Ice ice baby

Thread Starter
thank you for the very helpful advice on the slalom race technique thread. we entered our first race yesterday and had a lot of fun, even though our performance was not exactly awe-inspiring wink.gif

the course yesterday was very firmly packed/icy. our skis had recently been tuned and edge-sharpened. the better skiers looked as though they did not even notice the ice, but we found some difficulty getting the edges in and holding the edges in on turns. I presume this is a function of the driver and not the ski - would be grateful for advice on how to conquer/enjoy/manage these snow conditions.

The trick is to engage the ski edges early and carve clean tracks. In order to do that you need to project yourself far into the turn while your skis are left carving around the gate.
