Lake Tahoe Area Weather bummer. - Page 3

On the plus side I just got in 4 days in St Anton on my Epic pass.  Snow pack wasn't as deep as normal but still more off groomer available than the whole of Tahoe I suspect & you could ski pow and sweet sweet corn the same run.

Don't hate me.

If the skiing is good, why did Squaw have only one lift open on upper mountain Friday, and it wasn't even open the day before? Alpine is better but skiing is limited mostly on groomed runs.

Yes, and yes.  But so what? Skiing sucks, but its still skiing, you can have fun if you know where to go and are willing to be at the right place at the right time (and risk some p-tex).  I had about 10 legitimate powder runs at Squaw this season, sure, none of them were on the regular glory terrain like Headwall, Granite of Silverado, but those were legitimate fluffy runs nonetheless.  I would not pay retail for my skiing so far this year, but since I paid for my pass in the spring I make the best out of it.  if I was into surfing, I may have had different thoughts, but I am not, and I have kids on the ski teams...

I have not said skiing sucks. I am sure you had some powder runs. I had some Thursday and Friday too. I was at Funitel before it opened Friday.

If you go back to read my comment, it is about perspective from different point of view.  I would not have replied if you were the poster.

Looks like winter is being fashionably late in Tahoe. Looking forward to the snow when we get back.
