I need some input for the coming ski season. I've been skiing for 6 years and all of my time, except the first few times, has been spent on K2 Merlin VI skis. I was at Stratton last spring and tried 3 dynastar skis. At first the shorter Carve 63 was a frightning adjustment. They just didn't "rip" like the Merlins; however, after an hour or two I really started to enjoy the quicker turns and slower desent on steeper trails. I've read many positive reviews on the Dynastar Autodrive Carve. Is it a great ski? Are the demo models "tricked-out" to make them perform better? What other skis compete with the Carve in the areas that it excels? Thanks.
