My buddy is trying to buy a new pair of boots and is finding all the boots too wide. He liked the flex and fore foot feel of 97mn lasted Lange rx lv 100 but still found them to be too wide and could lift his heel easily. He is an upper intermediate skier and does not think he is ready for a full plug race boot. Is there any boots you can think of that might work?

most if not all the manufacturers make their race boots in a softer flex, whilst the Lange RX100 LV is marked up as low volume, it certainly isn't the narrowest boot out there, a lot depends on his foot shape and if he is even trying the correct size, what size shoe does he buy? what was the shell check on the RX? it may not even be the width of the shell more the volume over the foot which if too great will allow the foot to lift inside
where is he based, there is probably a good boot fitter near by, he needs to get assessed fully and go from there, if there is nothing which will hold his foot the way he wants then perhaps a different liner will help
without seeing the foot it is impossible to say much more, have a read at the "which boot will work for me" wiki at the top of the forum, this may give some useful information
