Need help deciding on new skis!

So it's been years and years and years since I've bought new skis. It's time! I'm having a hard time making a decision. I'll tell you a little bit about myself:

- 5'7" and 115 pounds.

- Intermediate skier hoping to become a bit more advanced.

- I like to take ski trips every year or two but live in North Carolina. I need an all mountain ski that can handle the icy groomer trails in NC for day trips but also skis that challenge me and work well in different conditions for my real ski trips.

Some of my decision comes down to price. I would like to stay below $350. So far I've concentrated my search between the  Fischer Koa 98 Skis, which I can get for $295 and the Icelantic Oracles, which I could get for $350. Does anyone have any advice based on the information I've given? Thanks!

The Fischer is a women's ski, so I'm a bit confused. What type of terrain are you planning to ski? And at what level?

I am a women- that's why I'm looking at a women's ski? Obviously I'm hoping for lots of powder...but that would be once a year if I'm lucky. I'll be riding a lot of groomers, often with man made snow since I'm in NC now.

My wife swears by her Atomic Cloud D2 73. And while it says it's a trail ski, she takes it ungroomed whenever she wants.

Also, I don't know of anyone that skis Blizzard Black Pearls that doesn't love them.

We live and ski in Tennessee, so these women are skiing the same conditions (or worse) that you are.

They are both a little north of what you are looking for, but if you haunt ebay and the like, you can catch them for that.

Hope that helped.

Oh! And check out the Salomon Origins Lava!

I know a bunch of people on these that are killing it, and for some reason they are just giving them away right now on the used market.
