Can't Ski on One Leg with Right Leg

Easy trails, standing on left leg, can ski carved turns in both directions.

Easy trails, standing on right leg, can only go in easy/left direction.

This has been the case for years in a couple of different boots. Not related to this "issue," I've had sort of basic/quick alignment checks (hold up a t-square to my knees type of stuff) at a shop and they didn't spot anything off.

Any idea what would cause this?  Of course I don't usually try to carve with 100% of my weight on my inside ski, but it does seem to say that my alignment isn't the same on both feet.  Should I try shoving trail maps in my boots or something?

try a thin (1-2mm) shim on the medial side of your footbed on the right side.  see if that is better or worse.

Thanks.  This did seem to work or it's a good placebo.  Both sides still aren't the same but probably never will be.  I put a small piece of compressible material (probably 1mm compressed) under my arch.  Anything bigger and it felt like something was under my arch.

great,

try a shorter piece under just the heel and see if that is better.   maybe a bit thicker too?

play around and see what helps.   Or just stop skiing on one ski?
