I checked the Caltrans site after skiing Mammoth this morning, and sure enough Tioga Pass opened up to the park entrance. I drove up this afternoon for a recon. Ellery Bowl has no tracks in it, but lots of wet slides, and some scary cornices. False White looked good, with a skin track up, and two tracks down. Gaylor had no tracks, but lots of wet slides. There were plenty of tracks on the Bread Runs, and the east side of the Lion's Head. The Powerhouse Chutes have lots of snow, and no tracks. Be warned that the snow we got Wed night did not bond well. The top of Mammoth had slides all over on Thursday. Even Gravy Chute and West Bowl had some sloughs, so be carefull. The Sherwins, the Crest, Mt. Wood and Carson are all in great shape too. See ya on the pass!
