Davluri Banned?

I just noticed this. What lead to this happening? He was one of my favorite old coots to spar with.

Wow, that's something else.  Definitely a curmudgeon at times, but a talented guy.

I haven't seen him around this season. Agree he was always fun to argue with, and converse with in general.

I don't get this place's ban policy. I don't think I've ever seen anyone get so out of line here that they should be banned. Banning guys like davluri and josh just sterilizes the place.

I think it was Davluri that I met at Squaw during the 2012 Tahoe Gathering and he struck me as being an interesting character and hard core skier.

While his comments and writing style where at times over the top curmudgeon, I found it for the most part entertaining. After all this is the internet.

So prior to getting banded does a poster get a warning or two?

Anyone care to divulge the circumstances for Davluri's banning?

I believe it is against epic policies for us to even be asking about this and discussing it.  In the moderator's defense it's very possible he crossed over lines (personal attacks for example) and we won't ever know what he said as it would have been deleted.  Certainly could be a temporary ban btw.

Dano, my understanding is that warnings are given long before a banning.  It takes a lot to be banned here.

Hopefully this is temporary - and most likely he earned it.

Yep, they sure do get a warning or two. Nope, we're not going to discuss it.

I will not comment on any specific user as it is our policy not to discuss these thing, but I just wanted to clarify that usually the reason our ban policy may seem a bit weird is that when someone does something to get banned it is usually so excessive that we have to remove the content from view that lead to the ban. We don't ban people for being annoying, consistently wrong, trolling, etc. With the exception of banning spammers almost all our bans have been due to excessive and/or frequent personal attacks on other members either in forum posts that we have had to delete, via PM, or in the rare case or two real life confrontations.
