DIN setting for moguls [APSI Level 2 instructor]

Thread Starter

Hi, I'm Phil from Taiwan.

This season, I start to do moguls in zipline. But got some pre-releasing as a result.

Where should I set the din for moguls skiing?

I am about 6" and 175lbs. I used brand new 13/14 HEAD iTitan 170 + PRX 12 S binding with solomon X-MAX 120 315mm.

Now my DIN at 7.

I'm a APSI level 2 ski instructor and need to pass my demo ski to get level 3.

And I try to get SAJ Badge level 1 and they do bumps.

I got some clips for your reference.

Thank you for any helps.

if you are having constant prereleases you could bump to type3 skier 8.5 DIN, looks that right now you are set as type 2.

that's assuming everything else is fine with bindings and boots, no ice, and all that...

Nice turns.  I'm not surprised you are releasing at type II, you are way better than type II.  Give the type III setting a try as mfa81 suggests.  If you still pre-releasing, then try the III+ setting.

I've found I'll even pre-release at type III in the bumps so I need III+, but it's best to use the lowest setting the works for you, of course.

Take a screwdriver / allen wrench to the hill and if you prerelease turn it up .5 DIN then ski and repeat
