Yakima rack mount question

Thread Starter

So I have an old Yakima ski rack I've never used before and trying to figure out how the attachments go on my cross bars.  This is what I'm dealing with:

Now intuition tells me the clips on the right in that pic should go towards the front, however my crossbars are kind of airplane-wing shaped, bigger and rounded in the front and tapered in the back.  My mounts seem wider on what is the left side in the pic and more tapered under the clip so it seems like it would fit better with the clips toward the back.  None of the online instructions I've found are very clear about this...anyone know how this should go?

Doesn't really matter.  Just make sure they fit well, and the litle mounting tab/blocks are vertical.  Then put your rack on that.
