Loveland Instructor Recommendation for Board to Ski Convert

Thread Starter

Moved to Colorado recently and am slowly dropping the board in favor of skis. Skied back east when I was young, and now -- after 15+ years on a board--twice at Loveland this season. Currently skiing just green and blue terrain. Skiing parallel with the occasional stem-christie when I accidentally find myself in bumps. From a brief review I'd say I'm a level 5/6 skier. Now thinking I'm ready for either a group or a private lesson. Mostly keen on working on consistency, rhythm, sharpening turns, getting comfy on steeper terrain, and staying over my tips. For reference, I'm late 20s and fit. (Though damn is skiing harder on the knees than boarding.

So who should I seek out? Or just sign up and go?

Cheers (and thanks for all the brilliant advice I've already found around the forum).

P.S. I tried searching, all I came up with was this quite-old thread: http://www.epicski.com/t/62851/recommendation-for-loveland

Either harry Covington, or Bruce leiman. Both are very good and do the training for that staff. Call the desk to get their contact info, or leave me a pm and I will hook you up....

Many thanks. I'll give them a ring during the week when hopefully the aren't as busy. Any idea how many folks I might expect in a Level 5-6 group lesson on a Friday there?  Private lesson wouldn't fit the budget for a month or two...

Sadly Bruce is in the hospital right now so Harry is your best bet. Have fun and tell him hi from Don Duran!

Yikes. I guess I know the answer to the voicemail I left them today. I"ll pass on your hello and wish Bruce a get-back-on-the-hill soon.
