Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing

As I mentioned in my last TR, Revelstoke is holding the goods! We were lucky enough on our vist last week to get in a day of flying with Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing which is based out of Revy. With over 2' of dumpage the previous 36 hours we knew we were in for a treat. Our crew consisted of John Witt, Desi, Tommy, Justin, Myself, Devin, Ashley Tait and still photog Johhny Antoniuk with Frostbite Photograpghy. With all the new snow we started off skiing some lower angle pitches above the lake checking the stability. Pretty spectacular when the sun comes out on this piece of ground!

We popped around a few places and then After lunch we slipped over to a cut block filled with pillows. Cut Blocks are what we call Clear cuts, the stumps get snow built up on them forming pillows. Talk about a roller coaster ride. To me and my fiends theres nothing more exciting than fresh pow and a little air.

The day went by quickly and before we knew it, it was 3:30 and our bellies were full with fresh pow. With one more drop to get home we skied Microwave down near the lake. Pretty spectacular backdrop as you can see from Johnny's image of Izzy Lynch skiing to the LZ.

Revelstoke is the place to be right now and if you can swing a heli day, Selkirk Tangiers will show you the goods!

….At least with their clothes on!     Nothing better than deep pow in the Selkirks and skiing the cut blocks.

Believe me "Cut Block" is engrained in my head! I love those types of runs, they make an old man feel like a kid again. Thanks for watching.

I would prefer skiing that with my clothes on, personally.  But I guess things might be different up in Canada, eh?
