I demoed the Bent Chetlers and freaking love it. Playful, smooth, the right feel for me. However I was wondering if the other Atomics that are narrower at the waist, have te same playful feel? Ie the Access and Blog

HI WW - I own the Chetlers and have been on the Access a couple of times (never the Blog).  To me, the Access feels kind of like a mini-Chetler (in a good way).  Similar loose, surfy feel, but in a more narrow, more manageable package for days when the powder isn't super deep.  Not quite as playful and a bit more directional, but very familiar feel if you been on the Chets - and well-tuned to soft snow environments on days when the Chets would be overkill.  The rocker profile and shape are similar, just more moderate.

I like the Access a lot and think that it is an underrated 100ish ski if you are looking for a 100 with a soft snow bias.  It doesn't kill it on the groomers, you get a touch of tip flap at speed, but nothing unmanageable - and if you keep your eyes where they belong (instead of obsessing over your tips) it is actually better at speed than you might expect, as long as the snow isn't super firm.  And it rips off piste in soft, mixed conditions.  So I could see the Access as a good ski for UT for an off-piste skier on those days in between storms where the snow is generally soft and chalky all over, but the powder has been run off.  On the other hand, if you are more into zooming groomers on those days, the Access wouldn't be the ski.

Also, the Access is a relative bargain - see Phil's steals and deals of the past couple years.  I think that he is spot-on with that call.  Great ski at a great price with a wide performance band that would make a lot of people happy.
