Shipping gear ahead of me?? Any thoughts?

I'm trying to find a way to get my gear to SLC ahead of me... However, here's the complicated path.  I am flying to Paris for business on 3/9. On the way back we are ending our flight in SLC instead of PHX. My wife is going with me to Europe and back but my (3) kids will be meeting us in SLC on the 14th for the beginning of spring break.  I would not want to carry ski equipment through Paris and recheck it just to have it follow me back to the states. Of course the chance of getting lost is there too. My kids will be flying in on southwest, so I can get 6 bags on for free from our home in PHX to SLC.  Are there services where you can ship equipment to ahead of time and pickup at a later date? My thought would be like shipping the equipment to a storage facility per UPS for a week before we are there to pick it up.

Has anyone done this or have any thoughts?  My REAL wish is to stay in France for a few days and hit the slopes there, but a quick in and out is more difficult than I thought.

Thanks

Ship to the resort or hotel. As long as you have a reservation and they are aware of your stay, you should have not problem. I have shipped several boxes ahead of time via Fed Ex to hotels with no problems. I would however have your kids bring your boots. I never ship my boots!

Why not make the kids work?   I assume you're paying for their trip, and their meals, and lodging, etc etc.

The least they can do is chip in by schlepping bags.

Does their schedule not redezvous with you on the first day?

Make them take all your bags (and their bags too).  Even an extra bag fee will be less than shipping.

Yea, or otherwise, call the hotel/resort you are staying and inquire if they can accept your delivery.

Thank you guys.  Shipping to the hotel is a great idea, however, I am staying at a VRBO condo slope side without an office on site.  I may have someone driving the kids up which will really help.

I was thinking that maybe a UPS store of a fedex facility would hold the items.  I may even check with PCMR to see if they have done this before.

Thanks again

If you have a local shop you have worked with before they might be willing to accept the gear and have a fresh tune for the right price as well. If you staying at a condo look into the HOA, They might have an office or a manager on duty that could receive your goods.

I've used both Fed Ex and UPS successfully in the past.  Has anyone used "Luggage Forward"?

I've shipped from Fedex to Fedex; they'll hold for you.
