Looking for a used intermediate all mountain ski. 5'9" 230lbs. Mostly PA/NY/WV skiing. Recommendations?

I have been looking at Rossignol Avengers and older Zeniths, Dynastar Legends, a bunch of other stuff.   I want the flexibility to go off the groomed trails, get better at moguls, tree skiing.

Not big on tricks but like to occasionally go fast.   Any recommendations on skis as well as what length.   I am short but heavy (too much weight lifting...not enough cardio).

Thanks!

Any recommendations?   Way too many choices out there.   The main issue is my weight and the east coast conditions.   I want to get a ski that will mostly be a solid on piste ski with the ability to be decent at moguls or in the trees.   I prefer a more forgiving ski.

There are several dozen skis made since 2011 that we could name here that could work pretty well for you.

By "pretty well"  I mean 'as well as an older Zenith or better'.    You listed a lot of criteria ('go fast','moguls','trees', 'forgiving') that can be mutually exclusive.

We could start listing skis - but that won't be very useful for you if you can't find that specific ski where it is you are looking.      You are looking at buying used, so I presume you have a rather strict budget.      Where are you looking for skis?    Would the budget extend to perhaps a severely discounted new (read: unskied) pair of skis?  What skis are you on now?

Well, I ended up buying a nearly new (barely used) Blizzard Mag 7.2 in 170cm.   Sounds like this is a very nice Intermediate ski that will do most of what I want in PA/NY conditions.  Plus, I should be able to grow some with these in ability.

Any thoughts?

My only concern was the firmness of the ski under my weight and if the 170 is a little short.

All in all, I think I will be happy.....especially for the $200 price tag.   The guy literally used them 2 days from new.

Don't know your weight so it'd be tough to comment on ski length, BUT if I bought some brand spankin' new ski's (close enough) for 2 bills, I'd be smilin' an awfully long time.  Good job and I'm sure you'll like the ski's.  If not, you could always sell 'em for what you've got into them.

Post your impressions when you can - very few datapoints on here for people your size, on skis that size.
