Racing GS Ski

So first, this is just an adult racing league but I have been skiing on a pair of 188 volkl's for awhile now.  I love my skis but for GS turns, thinking its not best for me.  I'm female...5'3 so yeah...ha...I need to finally go shorter.  Any recommendations for ski's?  I ski mainly in the East....MA, NH, VT...so need to deal with ice quite often.  Appreciate any advice.

Welcome to Epic! Yeah, these may be a touch long. Would strongly suggest looking at some Volkl Racetiger Speedwall GS's in the female lengths, 175 works; or if this is a fairly competitive league, the WC GS in 176 would work too. Lot of smaller women, both juniors and Masters, on our mountain (Killington) race on these. Also a big fan of Rossi WC GS's, they're feasible for lighter folks to bend, but nice and planted at speed. Either the FIS spec in 175 or if you want a more realistic sidecut, the Master's GS also in 175. Dynastars are the same skis, BTW, if you can get a better deal, but doubtful.

Check with your league; you should be able to get a deal from the usual race ski suppliers.

Thanks for the suggestions!  I was looking on craigslist and found this...158 cm Atomic Race 8 skis with atomic bindings.  Good price...and I'm looking to get something quick (I can pick these up sunday) so I can get out a couple days before my next race.  Enough ski?  Tried looking online but not finding out too much about it.  Appreciate any advice!

sounds like you are moving away from GS to an SL ski. if so, go to skis.com and get the elan slx with bindings for $349. Killer deal, killer ski.
