Rules may bar Ligety, Raich, Vonn Miller from Olympic Super Combined.

Have you seen this: Rules that require a skier to have finished 3 Super-Combined events in a year may keep Miller, Ligety, Raich, Vonn etc. from entering  the Olympic Super-Combined. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/jan/6/bode-miller-lindsey-vonn-sochi-winter-olympics/

Only two WC super-combined events are scheduled before the Olympics.  Do these people not consider their own rules when they make the calendar? Any one injured last year will have difficulties qualifying this year.

Wow, that is strange. The Austrians think it will be resolved somehow.   As I understand the article, if all goes wrong each team can sanction a bunch of quick "races" (read: training runs) in a row somewhere to get their starts.

"The FIS said a separate eligibility panel of specialists will decide injury cases."  So Raich and Miller will get in based upon an FIS panel?  I lost faith in those guys over the ice skating scandals.  I wonder how much this will cost in donations? :rolleyes
