Coppins Meadow Lodge, CA ??

Has anyone ever heard of Coppins Meadow Lodge, north of Truckee, CA? I haven't been able to find out much about it, other than it's a full service lodge with a 9-mile ski-in, located on the Little Truckee River. The nearby terrain appears to have possibilities for some fun touring:

I found it listed listed in the appendix of Richins, "50 Classic Backcountry Ski and Snowboard Summits". Apparently, there is no web site.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

I've heard of Coppins Meadow and with your description it's probably on the road to Jackson Meadows Reservior by Weber Lake. There are some 9000 foot peaks, Mt. Lola, and a nice E-W ridge line with some good looking North facing pitches. You take 89 North of Truckee about 14-17 miles then bang a right, actually you'll park. The road to Weber Lake is closed in the winter. The area is a snowmobilers haven. I could picture that area as having some excellent backcountry runs. There's snow on the north faces well into July that always looks skiable.

Thanks for the info. It sounds like a nice spot, although the presence of smowmobiles might dampen the winter splendor a bit. I'll have to investigate to see how much effort would be required to get away from the beaten snowmobile tracks.
