Salt can be good for wound healing...

My flight got cancelled. After 2 weeks off, my legs were toast and I was ready to go back to work. But I don't have wings. So if the plane doesn't fly, I can't go back.

Fortunately, there's fresh snow and sunshine. So I got 2 extra days of really nice skiing in. Somehow my legs held up pretty nicely. Must be all that salt...

Here's a new one. Our flight from Newark to Denver was delayed nearly an hour because the first mate supposedly was stuck in traffic coming from Manhattan. Everyone else on board managed to make it on time though. Just made Aspen connection though fortunately.

Had that happen to me once at CVG. We boarded the plane on time & all the monitors were saying the flight was on time. After sitting there for 15 minutes, the flight attendant finally told us that the cockpit crew were both stuck in traffic in Cincinnati.

I have never experienced delays caused tardy pilots or traffic...how long was the delay?

Monday morning...back on the road again.

Safe travels road warriors!

Usually the airline hires a van to pick up the crew at a specific time since the crew can only work so many hours a day, so they have to time the arrival at work the night before. They usually cannot change the pick up time the morning of the flight just because there was a traffic jam. Late crew show times can also be caused by weather delays from the previous day if the last flight of the day was delayded due weather, since the crew requires a fixed period of crew rest on the ground before showing back up to fly the next day.

I fly all the time.

Sometimes the flight goes somtimes it doesnt, somtimes my stuff makes it somtimes it doesnt. I have been held up by crew, weather , maintanace, broken loading gates and I am sure numerous other things. Not really a big deal, most of the time not any problems. Id rather be safe then not and the flight going later on goes to the same place.

I'm just thinking here ,I really like it when my stuff is delayed on the way home ,they drop it at my home.

If you get bumped somtime BTW it might be me ....sorry but I was way more important then you that day LOL ( I can get onto an over booked flight if I give 24 hrs notice I am garuanteed to be on the flight of my choice )

Flying if flying ,you have no control over the situation so just live with it. (If you get mad at the nice lady at the gate thats trying to deal with thousands of people stuck she can make your time longer )

Have fun fly safe and dont get your ski socks in a knot.

That seems to happen more often than others. Pilots who're not used to NYC traffic under-budget their ground travel time late for work...

Chicago is a mess.  My BIL's flight from Minneapolis was re-routed thru Atlanta to RDU.

I really threaded the needle getting out of Aspen yesterday.  Most of Sunday's flights were cancelled due to a snowstorm, which was supposed to continue through last night.  My 8:30am flight left on  time, as did my connection to Newark through Chicago.  No traffic across the GWB either.

The skiing was fabulous.

We missed our flight out of Denver Sunday.

A semi had jackknifed on I70 and we sat in Glenwood Springs for about six hours. If we had left 30 minutes earlier we would have missed it.

Looks like we'll fly direct to Aspen next time, instead of the big loop. Comes out about the same for travel costs.

There is the small chance the plane will flip on landing though.

:/
