so what should I expect in Jackson's Hole

I'd love to get feedback from people comparing to other mountains I've skiied

the problem of course is that comparing any on-piste runs in the alps to US skiing isn't particularly useful so I'm stuck with using Whistler and CO as the reference points.

I think in CO the trickiest stuff I could find as a 'marked piste' were the stone creek glades in BC and some of the runs in blue sky bowl in Vail (Lovers leap and so forth spring to mind(.

Arapahoe had some interesting drop-ins from the hike along the ridgeline also IIRC

Breck I can remember nothing really challenging.

In Whistler there were again some interesting drop-ins such as the Cirques and the Couloir, but they were all fairly ski-able at my level.

What I'm trying to work out is whether I am likely to find myself out of my depth at JH or whether the sorts of runs I mentioned above are about the level I could expect of a Typical double-black in JH?

Hopefully someone has skiied both and can offer some insight?

JH can be as difficult and challenging as any place in North America, or it can easily be skied by intermediate skiers from top to bottom.  The drop-in on Corbetts Couloir can be quite intimidating, but it's not the biggest challenge at JH, since it's right under the tram, it gets a lot of attention.   My suggestion is to get the most out of the ski area, meet up with someone like @Bob Peters or @tetonpwdrjunkie and get a half-day of guiding or lessons.  It's a huge area and the time with a guide will be well worth the investment, not to mention early ups and lift line cutting.

I'm certainly plannig to meet up with either of those epicski contacts if possible - May have to see if I can join a group lesson  though as will be on my own for first 3 days in JH before rest of my group arrive.

When are you going to be there? That would be helpful info.
