I'm considering switching my pant baselayer to something with compression. I currently wear Capilene 3.0 and a pair of insulated ski pants. When the temps drop I add a thin pair of nylon jogging pants but I'm not a fan of them. I'm hopeful that with a nice compression baselayer I can lose the jogging pants even in colder temps and it will help to keep my legs fresh. I'd really like a 3/4 length pair so I don't have to deal with anything in my boots or rolling them up which sometimes is uncomfortable with my current baselayer.
I've been searching threads here and it seems the popular stuff is CW-X, Opedix and Skins. Honestly, I'd like to spend a little less if possible, but if these are worth the price I'd consider them over the cheaper options.
I found these 2 options online, any thoughts on these and which might be better?
1. Under Amour Stretch Coldgear 3/4 Leggings
2. Colombia Midweight 3/4 Tight
The Colombia pair is cheaper but which is better from a compression standpoint or a warmth standpoint? Is anyone familiar with either of these? Unfortunately I'm not going to find either in a local store so I can't check them out in person before ordering.
