Today I had a nice skiing day and while I was going up to the top of the piste I was watching a bit how others were skiing. What I noticed was that those 12 year old kids skiing around were a hazard for everyone around them and it got me thinking where are their parents? How irresponsible must they be for their kids to be doing this.
When looking at adults even some who are clearly EXPERTS, as you can see from their technique are alltho skiing quite fast not skiing as fast as some of these kids that bomb down on the tracks between people like kamikaze dive bombers.
I also saw some little kids like 4-5 year olds forced on steeper terrain they couldn't handle by their parents ( and even left to ski alone while their parents were too busy enjoying their skiing, and the kid completely out of control on those terrains was skiing out of control and endangering everyone but specialy himself ).
It got me thinking about a few questions
1. How can some parents be so irresponsible? How can they leave little kids to go ski on steeper terrain alone and only care about their skiing?
2. I know young kids are a bit crazy but how can they seriously bombard down the piste like kamikaze dive bombers that just seems a bit too insane even for them? Are they completly out of their mind?
3. How would you say is a good speed thats still safe on the piste, lets assume two scenarios : first the piste is pretty empty, second the piste is a bit crowded
4. Not related to this post exactly but I was wondering in terms of speed, how different are different type of skis and radiuses? Is it harder to ski faster on slalom skis than on gs skis? What speed is recomended for a type of ski, are there any differences?
