Never been to JH and Im planning a trip there 3/9-3/18...How safe is it given the ski conditions there compared to Big Sky.. Or should I play it safe and stick to SLC/Colorado

Who knows? I'd take the info here: http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/predictions/long_range/two_class.php

Then look up current base depths and try to figure out where the rocks will be covered.

Did you follow the discussion in 2012 of timing for the Big Sky EpicSki Gathering in late March 2013?  Some people skied at JH on the way to Big Sky.  Somewhere there are trip reports.

Could PM @Bob Peters for advice about JH.  Have you read his Unofficial Guide?

Don't know about Big Sky, but JH is already good snow-wise. You'll not regret going either place, they are both awesome.
