1/7 - 1/13: Deer Valley Freestyle World Cup (Moguls and Aerials)

I'm heading into Deer Valley to watch the Freestyle World Cup next week. I'll be in town from 1/7-1/13.

This is the schedule to watch the World Cup. (I'm trying to get confirmation on the Aerial times for the qualifications since this list is different than the FIS site.)

I'll probably spend the mornings at Canyons since I have an Epic pass. Might hit Park City and Snowbird also. Wondering if any other Epic Skiers will be around Deer Valley watching the World Cup or skiing?

I'll be spectating and skiing.  I wasn't aware there was a schedule discrepancy, I'll check in with a friend who's volunteered to assist at the events.  Canyons is kind of snow challenged right now, haven't been over to LCC in the past week, it wasn't bad before the X-Mas crowds.

I checked with the event organizer and this one is up to date. There had been a small discrepancy with one of the qualification times for aerials.

I chatted with the DV people today and concur, the DV site is accurate and in any event will govern.

I'll be in DV next week, 9 thru 12th, just skiing, the WC is a coincidence for us. That said, I'm going to check it out. If you're looking to make some turns, I'd be up for that - usually split off from the group at some point. We are staying up empire way, so will be out of WC traffic madness...

I'll be with a friend at the Holiday Inn Express.

We're going to hit Snowbird on Wednesday, The Canyons on Thursday and Saturday (in the mornings and then spectate at Deer Valley in afternoon/evening), Deer Valley on Friday, and Park City on Sunday.

PM me if you want to try to ski a few runs.

Outstanding day today at DV, met up with Lorenzzo for a few turns, had a great time. New snow was reported at about 7 inches but on a windy day, there was much more in spots. also took advantage of Rossi's demo yurt to try out the super 7s and sin 7s - much preferred the supers. Will grab the soul 7s tomorrow for an hour to see what i think - unfortunately, it's all tracked out or blown off, boy was it windy later in the day.

Lorenzzo, good skiing with you, I had a great rest of the day. Now I'm beat, but chilling with a beer in the bar ;-)

Looks like I got out of there before the wind really took over.  Fun getting together, seems as though you got the best of the Rossis and the mountain.  Enjoy the rest of your stay.  Next time maybe more turns and one canyon over.  Cheers!
