We all have webcams in our pockets and we are everywhere on the mountain

Want to see what your favorite mountains look like now, beyond the static locations of webcams? Now you can, through the eyes of your fellow skiers and snowboarders.

I'm rolling out a new feature to my labor of love, Snowmeo — trail maps with current pictures — starting with Vail and Copper Mountain.

We take our carefully selected, crowd-sourced, geotagged pictures of ski runs and place them on a scrollable, zoomable, clickable trail map.

Curious how tracked out your favorite run is? Wonder how crowded the back bowls are on the day after Christmas? Our maps will always show the most current photographs, with captions, so you can learn about the current conditions from those who are there. We also provide links to the original content, so you can give them an upvote or comment.

Explore the enhanced Vail trail map or Copper trail map.

If you prefer to just see the most recent pictures, we still have those for Vail, Copper, and many other mountains.

Maps of more mountains coming soon, starting with the rest of the Colorado mountains we support.

I welcome any feedback.

What device are you on? I see the map on iPhone and iPad, albeit with some page styling issues.

Nexus 7, Android 4.4, Chrome for Android 31.0.1650.59

Maybe it's a styling issue but I can't tell that because I don't know what it's supposed to be doing.

It works fine for me with an android 4.4 emulator (I don't have an Android device).

My only guess is that you clicked the wrong link? I posted links to the galleries after the links to the maps.

Try this one.

Well, I was trying to find out what other areas you had. Went to home page and got

Then this

Tapped around, got it to show the words and arrows but clicking around it's just pictures. Where's the menu?

We've just rolled out a new, responsive site for Snowmeo which now will show a drop-down list of the mountains we support on the homepage (which includes Whitefish, btw).

I'm sorry for the poor mobile experience you had. We went minimalist with our first version of the mobile site, but it was perhaps too minimalist. Please let me know what you think of the site now.

Thanks, Jay
