The answer to my question will be obvious once I try it myself, but in anticipation of receiving a new set of boots I am curious what the general consensus is on using an existing foam injected liner in a new shell?
My current boot is a Nordica Patron Pro which I had set up with the Nordica lace up foam injected liner. The boot has been pretty solid for me but I tried on the Head Raptor on a whim and found it an even more solid fit for my foot. I attributed this to the skinny heel pocked and slightly shorter BSL on the Head. I picked up a used pair to try out and I am curious if using the foam liner that was set up in my Nordicas will be possible? I know the Nordica lace up foam liner is more than suitable for use in other brands of boots, particularly something like the Raptor that has a similar last and BSL (303 v. 305).
So my question really amounts to whether the fact that the liner was foamed to my foot in the Nordica shell will make it undesirable or impossible in the Head shell of the same size. The foaming process seems to have more to do with shaping the inside of the liner around my foot than the outside of the liner to the boot shell. I also know people commonly use ZipFits in multiple pairs of boots. Based on those facts I am hoping it works, but I can also see how it might not.
I am curious if anyone has made the switch with success?
