Skiing in Southern NE?? Never Wait-ski when it's good!

The last two weeks have been a real lesson in skiing Southern New England!

Last Thursday, Friday and Saturday saw us all enjoying early season bliss, this weekend will be another story.  But that's life below 4000ft (and South of Stowe and east of the Rockies).  The lesson is, you can't wait!  As soon as the conditions are good, you got to motivate call in sick, etc).  Some seasons are epic others are lean, but even in our leanest seasons, you'll get 3 great weeks of skiing…mind you, not three consecutive weeks, just three weeks, 21 days..and they can show up anytime between Turkey day and early April, so when it looks like one of those days, well, if you're going to sample the best around here, you got to pull out all stops and motivate…or be relegated to scratchy groomers and the vagaries of winter luck!

A short iPhone video from a good day of skiing at Berkshire East in Western, Massachusetts exactly 6 days ago…see what I mean, last week was one to motivate for...

A week ago I was at Pico with soft snow everywhere.  One week later it's a different story. That said, at least we have a good stretch of cold weather ahead and the grooming and snowmaking will allow the holiday crowds to at least make some turns.  Better than rain during the holiday week.

Oh yeah…all things considered Berkshire East is skiing really well right now and looks to only get better.  Got the carvers out today for some high speed groomer fun.  Good day and good skiing.
