Volkl RTM 84 edge sharpening for ice question

Thread Starter
I recently sharpened the edges of my RTM at 88 degrees and detuned the tips and tails 6 inches, and found that the skis really slippery and the tips and tails would not stop wondering when on edge on ice. Should I detune less or it's just that I did not sharpen the edges enough?

Detune is not really necessary on modern shaped ski.  6 inches is way way too much anyway.  Sharpen the full length, ski them, then only detune if you find the tips and tails to be unpleasantly hooky.
