I'm sure that many of you who will visit Jackson Hole this winter have been wondering "How could I get first tracks off the Bridger Gondola some morning while I'm there?".
Well, here's how...
The JH Mountain Sports School has just rolled out an experimental program offering early access to the gondola each morning. You can board the gondola between 8:30 and 8:45am and hang out in style, warmth, and comfort at the terminal building at the top of the gondola. You can buy coffee, hot chocolate, muffins, juice, whatever.
Once the ski patrol clears the mountain for skiing (usually at 9am unless snow control work is still happening), you're cleared to start skiing/riding. That means you're on the mountain and skiing as the hordes of other skiers at the bottom are just starting to load the lifts.
As an added attraction, the ski instructor at the top who is handling the logistics is yours truly. Me. How cool is that?
Here's a link to the program: http://www.jacksonhole.com/early-gondola-access.html
This is brand new, so the "Buy Now" button on that page may not lead to the right place yet. Just to save you time, the cost per person is $175 (and does not include lift tickets).
It's a pilot program, so please tell all your friends to contact the Jackson Hole Mountain Sports School and sign up so that I can continue to be gainfully employed.
