I am considering the S3s to complement my quiver and would like some feedback.
I am an advanced skier who mostly skis groomers and tight trees. I get a handful of powder days so don't want to throw down a ton on powder skis, but would love a quick turning rockered ski to play on. My other two skis are a very stiff 163cm Volkl AC 50, 2011, and a pair of 148cm Fischer SL world cup skis I got used. The latter are my main ski as they are so much fun on the groomers and following my kids around, both of whom are young racers. I love the quick snappy turns, but they are a pain in the trees with any powder. With a race plate, they want to carve, not slarve.
I'd like to spend around $400 on a pair of skis that are fun to float in the trees and the occasional powder day, and don't care much about giving up groomer performance as I have two pair of skis that crush the groomers, and I'm already ok with hauling multiple pair of skis around.
someone recommended the S7 but the S3 looks to be slightly softer cheaper version? Are there other skis I should consider?
Oh, 40 years old, 5'7", 140 pounds, fit, moderately aggressive all mountain, inbounds skier. I'm skiing 30-35 days a year right now.
