Limited Dorsiflexion - Soft Flex or Stiff Flex

Greetings,

I was in a discussion yesterday on my boot set up.  I have limited dorsiflexion.  Not horrible but enough for the fitter to note it.  When the same fitter did my daughters boots, he stated she needed a stiffer boot because she has hyper-dorsiflexion.  In my simple head - if hyper dorsiflexion needs stiff then limited dorsiflexion needs soft.

If all things are equal with two people except one has hyper and one has limited dorsiflexion, what would you expect them to get with regards to flex stiffness?

Thanks,

Ken

with limited i would go stiffer, it means that every movement is transferred to the ski, before you run out of ROM, an upright cuff is best too

with excessive amounts of dorsiflexion again i would use stiffer, got to try and control that movement

Well.  I suppose you can't all be wrong :cool

It makes sense for why each group would get a stiff flex.  My only issue with this is admitting to my friend he was right :p

Thanks,

Ken
