If you don't know Schweitzer, its a good sized resort in the Idaho Panhandle with some great terrain, and the last few years a great snow record. It basically never gets busy, has excellent terrain variety and some of the best tree skiing around.
This year has been a slow start in the PNW, and last weekend Schweitzer had as much terrain open as anywhere - about 2000 acres, or 2/3rds of its total. Some of the runs were too twiggy to be groomed, but there was still some really good skiing, especially on the steeps off the ridge down into North Bowl.
They've had a little more snow since and opened some more terrain. Hopefully it'll dump and be fully open for Xmas - last week they seemed about a foot short.
It was a foggy weekend, so not very photogenic. So we threw together a video if anyone is interested is seeing what it was like - it's not very serious ;) - http://gortonator.wordpress.com/2013/12/20/fog-and-shrubbery-a-thon-at-schweitzer-december-2013/
