No Pressure on Left Heel

Hi Everyone, I have an odd problem that I haven't read about before. I have a pair of Tecnica Inferno Heats with custom insoles. My problem is when I'm skiing or even just standing my left heel is kind of suspended about 1/16 of an inch above insole. It wouldn't concern me except that I noticed when carving to the right, with the left leg downhill, I use the tails of the skis. Can I just cut off the heel of a boot shim and adhere it to the boot board to take up the space or could the problem caused by the insole?

   Than you.

this could be a number of things, from a bad insole or boot fit to a tight calf muscle, well worth getting it checked out at a good boot fitter, the solution is probably very simple but not something we can diagnose well over the net

my money would be on either the heel cup of the footbed being too narrow for your foot or your calf muscle being REALLY tight, but normally both calves would be similar (unless due to an injury) , so time to check the insole, if you are adding a heel lift then it wants to be on both legs or you will ski round in circles

Thanx for the reply. I just returned from boot shop that sold me my boots and insoles. Turns out that my left insole was made too small. My left foot is the longer one, by about 1/4 inch and my toes push out the neoprene toe box which caused the insole to slide forward and caused the arch of the insole to be further back which lifted my heel a little. Or so I was told. They made me a new insole and stretched toe box a little. The person who fitted me, an assistant, made the insoles the same length as the originals but never checked how the liners fit on me, just the shells.
