Sierra Trips

Anyone in this forum interested in doing some backcountry skiing in the Southern Sierra's this spring? I'm looking for someone to join me on some exploratory trips. Maybe one night stays on the weekends.

I plan to do several multi-days down on the east side, around Bishop, Mammoth and Tioga. Is that what you mean by the "Southern Sierra's"? I've always thought of the Kernville area as the southern sierras, and I don't plan to get down that far.

I will try to spend as much time as possible in the BC this May and June (July too please!). I mostly hangout in the Virginia Lakes, Tioga Pass, Mammoth/June area, but would be interested in some Bishop trips, or further South like Onion Valley.

I think of the Southern Sierra's as June Lake south. I've never spent time in these mountains other than at Mammoth itself. I'd like to explore the different climbs and descents listed in books like:

"Backcountry Skiing California's High Sierra" by John Moynier.

"50 Classic Backcountry Ski and Snowboard Summits in California" by Paul Richins, Jr.

However, I don't really want to do solo trips. So if we can hook up for some Fri-Sun, overnight weekend trips, or even day excursions, it would be fun.

You can send me a private message to exchange contact info if you want a climbing partner.
