Were is the trail called 'GUNBARREL' ???

You home area have it?

When was it named/opened?

Just wasting time over the 'non-skiing holidays'.

Ski Roundtop, in PA, and about a 2 hour drive for me has a trail named Gunbarrel.  I don't know when it was opened, but the upper part of it is the steepest trail at Roundtop and is usually covered in large moguls as well.

Sundown Mtn (ok, it's a valley) has Gun Barrel ... even a Black Diamond!   Whole Mtn is listed as 475 ft but given other locals, better than most.  Believe it's been around 40yrs ...

Whistler has the gunbarrels (not sure if it is on the trail map).  Apex has a nice steep area

consisting of  Magnum, Gunbarrel, 22, Peashooter,  Dirty Harry, Make My Day and Winchester - apres available in the Gunbarrel Saloon.

Sundown is a very cool little ski area and Dubuque is a cool town.

Monarch has a Gunbarrel. It is possible that it is the oldest- It was the very first run cut on the mountain in 1939.

Wolf Creek has a Gun Barrel.

Black Powder is another run name that just shows up everywhere.

Pretty sure there is a steep run called Gunbarrel under the Sauliere cable car in Courcheval. One of the better black runs in the Trois Vallees.

Jane has a Riflesight Notch...although most of its trails are railroad themed.

Heavenly's Gunbarrel is a long (1800 ft vertical) steep bump run on the bottom of the California side. There are people--Face Rats--who spend all day skiing it and ski nothing else. Glen Plake sponsors the Gunbarrel 25--winner is the first skier to complete 25 laps.

Surprisingly, Gunstock Mountain in NH, despite having trails such as Peepsight, Trigger, Pistol, Sidearm, Gunpowder, Gun Smoke, Hot Shot, and Shot Gun, does not have a Gun Barrel trail.

How can an intermediate run be called Gunbarrel? The Heavenly Gunbarrel is the true Gunbarrel. All others are imposters.

Wedged in between Roxoff and Trash Can sits Gun Barrel in the Alpental (Near) BC. You'll only find this designation labeled on some really old trail maps that has marked BC runs and routes, or local Alpentalic brain maps. Some of my favorite double diamond tree riding can be found in and around this zone.
