First pair of advanced skiing boots... Help!

Thread Starter
Hi guys, I am looking to buy a pair of advanced skiing boots. This will be the first pair that I buy, so I am willing to make a hefty investment in some boots that will last me a while.

Anyone have any recommendations on things to look for and research on? Also, any good recommendations on brands? And places to get fitted at? I hear surefoot is a great place, but I'm from Chicago and I won't be in Colorado until January and I'm trying to spend most of my trip out there on the mountain, not in the shop. Thanks in advance!!

start here... http://www.epicski.com/a/boot-fitting-which-boot-will-work-for-me

for me i would be looking at an independent fitter rather than a chain, sure some people have good boots from chain stores but it is a bit more hit and miss than with a reputable fitter

there is a list of fitters at the top of the forum so you may eb able to find someone local to you or the closest person to wherever you will be in colorado

you will probably not narrow things down too much over the net, boot fitting is a pretty hands on activity and no fitter can give you an accurate answer until they have your feet in front of them with the shells that they are suggesting

good luck getting sorted, it is worth the time and money to get it right
