Hotronic Foot Warmer w/o Removable Boot Liner

I’ve just purchased the Hotronic Foot Warmer e4 system to be used on my Salomon Pro Combi Pilot Nordic boots.  Good news: these boots have an exterior rigid plastic frame that comes high up the back of the boot for easy attachment of the e4 battery pack.  Issue/Problem to be Solved: these boots do NOT have a removable inner liner, and so the flat power cord from the heated insole must run up inside the boot between the one’s socked foot and the boot, with possibility of associated foot discomfort and/or abrasion to the power cord.  (In boots with an inner, removable liner the power cord is run up the outside of the inner liner.)  Has anyone out there used the Hotronic system with footwear w/o an inner removable liner?   Is there any associated discomfort or problem?  Any suggestions for addressing this issue?

reverse the heat element and run the cord out the front on the boot.

seal your exit slit with shoe goo to prevent leakage. or glue on a thin neoprene patch over the toe.

Thanks, jm, I'll include as one of my options.  Also thinking about cutting off back section of thin neoprene sock to use in lieu of the inner liner absent in my boot (then run power cord up behind neoprene section, etc).  Thinking that with only that small section of neoprene shouldn't change comfort fit too much in boot.
