Fischer Hybrid 8.5 Ti - first impressions

Thread Starter

Looking for anyone that has skied the latest line of Fischer Hybrid skies. I'm interested in the Hybrid 8.5 Ti specifically but would welcome comments and any of the Hybrid line.

I ride Progressor 1000's now but looking to go a little wider and add a little rock to the ski to keep up with the kids in the trees and powder. Love the Progressors on the groomers - nothing better, but the ski just doesn't cut it in the junk and trees.

thanks

Hi,

I found them to be pretty stiff and heavy; not really my cup of tea.  I would recommend the Motive 86 if you want a Progressor-like feel, but more all-mountain performance.

I'm on last year's 8.0 and LOVE it. It's super stiff and rock solid at breath-taking, cheek-flapping speeds and still tractable at super slow speeds. Even with the rocker on I've never found a speed limit on these skis (and I'm a heavyweight). They also have just enough float and maneuverability for trees in moderate amounts of snow. Their stiffness, though makes for a super rattly ride in frozen chunder and icy bumps, but on groomers and in softer crappy snow and moderate powder, they've replaced my Volkl 6-Stars and Karmas as my hard snow ski of choice.
