Go easy on me as I'm new to this site.  I'm a pretty aggressive skiier, love powder and trees, not much interest in jib or air.  No backcountry.   5' 10" and 165 pounds.  I live in Denver and ski all over Colorado, but spend a lot of time on the mountain with my young kids, so I really only get 5 - 10 days a year going hard on the mountain.   So, last year  I had a powder day at Steamboat and I demoed K2 Side Seth, 174.  Thought they might be too short, but , wow, one of my best days of skiing, ever.  They blasted through everything, very stable, and very quick in the trees.   Float seemed good as well.   After that, I knew I had to have a dedicated ski for powder days.  Instead of buying the Seth, however, I  went with a 183 Atomic Bent Chetler.  I've only skiied the Bent 5 times or so, and conditions have not been as good as that day at Steamboat, but I find myself missing the Seth.  So, questions:  1) has anyone else skiied both and prefered the Seth (or am I just crazy); 2) If I do try to move to the Seth, should I stick with 174 or go up to 181; and 3) If I try to sell or exchange what is the best way to do so?  Thanks in advance for any words of wisdom.

The Bent is a really nice ski, and the length should suit you a little better than the shorter 174cm.  That ski in 183 just floats over everything, but is also really, really playful.  I would think you could open it up more on the Bent: I have skied the old Seth in that shorter 174cm length, and it is more of a tight tree length, a little short for most of my skiing as well. I am 5 foot 9, 155lbs.  I say stick with the Bent, or demo a Seth in 181 for a more accurate comparison.

Thanks much for the information.  Maybe I just haven't had the Bent out in very good conditions.  We shall see.  Anyone else with any words of wisdom?

I skied the Bent Chetler a ton in good pow conditions. Helluva fun ski. Real floaty, playful and stable. If it had a burlier layup i would still be on it.
