I'm not saying that I'm a great skier or that I would go down all double black runs (anything marked cliffs, no thank you...) or that I'm charging down them. I just mean to imply that it doesn't take long to learn how to ski if you already snowboard. This may be another contributing factor to snowboarding's decline... Snowboarders getting bored with their local hill, who are getting older and don't want to push themselves in the park, will likely find the changeover to skiing to be pretty easy. And as backcountry skiing is growing more popular, I also know several people who have switched over to skis because let's face it, skis are easier to maneuver uphill.
