Avalanche Warnings for COLORADO! Please be careful folks

Thread Starter
A VERY STRONG WINTER STORM WILL BEGIN TO AFFECT THE NORTHERN
MOUNTAINS OF COLORADO ON MONDAY NIGHT. INTENSE SNOWFALL AND STRONG
WINDS WILL RAPIDLY OVERLOAD THE EXISTING SNOWPACK. BACKCOUNTRY
TRAVELERS SHOULD ANTICIPATE RAPIDLY INCREASING AVALANCHE DANGER
TUESDAY. IF THE FORECAST VERIFIES...AVALANCHE CONDITIONS WILL BECOME
VERY DANGEROUS. BACKCOUNTRY TRAVEL IN OR BELOW AVALANCHE TERRAIN IS
NOT RECOMMENDED. IF THE STORM PROGRESSES AS FORECAST...AVALANCHE
CONDITIONS IN THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN MOUNTAINS OF COLORADO WILL
BECOME VERY DANGEROUS ON WEDNESDAY.

remember that you don't have to be skiing in Avalanche prone areas; just traveling through beneath or above them is a considerable risk to you or others

I would also recommend a degree of caution skiing inbounds as well. The snowpack has proved very unstable with every storm thus far, and this one will probably be no exception. Skiing with a partner and being a little wary of wind-loaded slopes is probably not a bad idea.
