Quadricipital tendon for ACL reconstruction

Hello,

My Dr advised me to reconstruct my ACL using the quadricipital tendon and there is not much info out there about it.

I just know quadricipital is a graft mainly used revision surgery and that you do get a scar.

The reason why we made this graft choice is :

- We discarded KJ (patellar tendon) to avoid risk of knee pain during Yoga
- We discarded DIDT (Harmstrings tendons) to retain full length strnght as I play waterpolo at competition level.

Is there anyone out there who has undergone such surgery using this technique as a first choice?

For the ones who had it as a revision surgery, how would you compare to KJ or DIDT? Pro/Con?

Any info would be valuable as I am getting the surgery next week ! Particularly, what are the Cons of this method.

Thanks !

Forgot to mention: My Doctor discarded the allograft right off the bat mentionning

- that the technique is not yet reliable enough
- it is not well accepted where I live (Switzerland)
- he does not practice it

ACL allograft? If yes, see option C for the reason. its very reliable especially when performed as a Double bundle.
