Shipping skis, boots, clothes Canda - Sweden

Hey, I am going to Whistler this season, and will be ending season in end of April.

My situation is as following. I am currently in Mexico without any sort of ski equipment at all. Back in Sweden I got a full set ski equipment. A friend of mine is coming here to Mexico during Christmas, and when he go home I will fly to Canada. After Canada I will go back to Mexico, and wish to not travel around with my ski gear.

What I was thinking was that he could bring my ski equipment here to Mexico, I can fly with it to Canada and use it for whole season. As finished, I could ship it all home back to Sweden.

Now my questions to you guys:

* How much would the cheapest alternative cost to send skis, boots as well as clothes from Canada-Sweden? Delivery time is no worries.

* Maybe cheaper to just rent skiing gear for 3 months?

* Is it possible to fly Mexico - Canada with ski equipment?

* Would it possibly be cheaper for me to fly back to Mexico with my ski gear, and then ship it from there to Sweden?

* Any other thoughts?

Thanks by advance!

I'd try looking at shipping rates for UPS and FedEx. Not sure there are any people on here that could give you that info without doing that work for you. You'd have to have an idea of the number of boxes and the shapes of the boxes, plus the weight.

I'm sure that you can fly with your ski equipment. What the charge is depends on the airline and what else you've got with you.

Unless you do a seasonal rental, which is normally equipment that is not all that great, I can't think how you could save MONEY doing it. Hassle? Maybe. Certainly, you should bring your own boots.
